A Volkswagen Bug with Mouse Ears?
Truly Nolen was one of the first pest control companies that I noticed as a child. Their solid yellow vehicles with mickey mouse-like ears and a tail on the bumper made it unmistakable to me as a small child.
Back in the late 1980's and throughout the 1990's, that was a great business tactic; simple yet effective marketing. Today, companies seem to be a lot more straight forward with their slogans and information.
I also wonder if by today's standards, are the DMV rules for "things" hanging off a vehicle as strict? Do you have to pay extra or wait longer in line when renewing your vehicle's registration? It's interesting how cigarette ads like Joe Camel were viewed as being marketed to children; you can use sound honorable marketing techniques like Truly Nolen has and still be successful in your business's industry, however niche-oriented it might be.
Something deep down inside of me longed to work with animals, or at least be around insects somehow. Little did i know that almost a decade from first seeing that "Bug Car", I would become one of the most passionate Entomologist and Pest Controllers in the US! I love my J.O.B. (a job to me, stands for = Joint Opportunity for Brilliance).
TOPIC STARTER OF THE WEEK: What is your J.O.B. and how does it aid you in living closer to your dreams and life's purpose?
